OUR MESSAGE BOARD IS BACK ONLINE!

As many of you already know our web site had a major security breach about three months ago which completely disabled our message board. Since that time we have worked tirelessly to not only retrieve and repost the old messages but also to attempt to prevent his problem from happening again in the future.

We are very happy to announce, that after hundreds of hours of work, we have retrieved and restored 95% of the old message board posts and placed them into a brand new Findmissingkids.com message board. We have also switched to a much more proactive web hosting company and backed the board up so this will not happen again.

Two major changes you will notice are:

  • The Findmissingkids.com message board is now dedicated only to issues pertaining to children. The old posts that related to adult victims and the parole board will be placed on a new message board that will be part of the two new web sites we will be launching in October/November 2006.
  • While everyone will be able to read the board messages we are now requiring registration for those that would like to post messages. This decision was not made in an effort to censor or screen posts. We had to require registration in order to combat the spamming problem, which was getting out of hand, and also to help decrease the possibility of the board being hacked. Please know that this was an extremely difficult decision for us. We hope our visitors will understand our position and take the time to register and voice their opinions on the new message board.

We would like to close by apologizing to our web site visitors, as well as to the victims families, for the time it took to get the message board back online. Unfortunately much of the problem was out of our hands and we were forced to rely on third parties to rectify the situation. We hope everyone enjoys the new message board and please be assured we have done everything possible to prevent this from happening in the future.

Thank you all for your patience and for voicing your opinions.

Sincerely,
The staff of Findmissingkids.com
